Wordless Wednesday: Santa Maria Novella (Florence)

A slight cheat: The current church was begun in the early 1400s, but like many churches, it stands on the site of a previous church. The beautiful fa├žade of the building was completed by the great architect Leon Battista Alberti in 1470 (who also studied law at the university here in Bologna).
