Iron Lacework [9|365]

One of the reasons I like walking down Via Irnerio is the section where the portici disappear, replaced by low walls and iron fences. They remind me a bit of my time in New Orleans where the French Quarter and some of the Uptown homes have lovely ironwork.

On Via Irnerio, some are boring old spikey types, but some are quite lovely, particularly at the botanical gardens. They have flower buds that are a perfect touch. I did manage to get a photo a few weeks ago when some of the trees still had their beautiful yellow leaves and the sky was a beautiful blue. The rest of the photos are from today when the sky was a little duller.

Sadly, Charlie (and other dogs) are not allowed at the gardens, for obvious reasons, so he has to make do with looking over the low wall. Seriously, how many photos have I taken like this in less than two weeks! Such a curious, nosy dog!

There’s the occasional balcony, but most are just fences and gates, but they do all offer a nice change in the scenery.
